What Game has the Best Graphics to date?

it depends on what you call good grafics really. I mean, Crysis looks great, but I also like how you can still obviously see its a game. (hope they never change that!) CoD4 has amazing grafics too, looks more realistic I think. (so does CoD5 i gues, but i havnt played that one yet)

Silent Hunter 4 has really, really amazing grafics too. and not to mention FEAR 2

I would say it's subjective, in that one person may think Fallout looks better than Crysis.

Also, some games look better than others in places, only to look much worse when you get to the next level or stage. For instance, when I first ran up Fallout 3 on my desktop, (while still in the vault) I thought "Man, this game looks so OLD!". But then as soon as you venture outside of the vault, the whole game completely changes and it looks amazing.

But I would say I think a couple of the best looking games I've played have been the Gears of War games.
Also, some parts of Fear 2 look spectacular, especially some of the effects they've put into that game.

I havent played COD4 on full before (played on a mates computer) might have to check it out now.

Crysis looks amazing, like they could make a movie using that engine and it wouldnt look that much different to a real life movie lol.

call of duty series really isnt even in the running imo.
As far as flat out visuals, cyrostatis is good I'll post some screens later
but I think crysis is still king after 2 years

Ive heard Killzone 2 is good (or so all my console loser buddies say ahaha)

How does that stack? Is it Dx10?

Killzone 2 has the best graphics right now. But that is going to change with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 and then Mass Effect 2.

It doesn't at all. I was playing at a friends house and the guns are so amazingly rendered that you can see smoke coming out of the gun as it heats up. As your allies get hit, their armor starts to fragment and get a little worn out. When you shoot someone, you can see the bullet holes, inside at their organs, and even see an accurate blood pool start. Its truly unreal!

yeah i vote for killzone 2 it is insane IMO for graphics

by the sound of it.. if you're a butcher, yea. (sorry, but the whole bullethole thing is just nasty! )
Dont forget the latest Tomb Raider game btw, at the CeBit 2009 all the companies (Asus, Gigabyte and Gainward for example) were using that game to show what their grafics cards can do. (its gotta count for something I suppose)

That game looks good but have you SEEN Killzone 2. I love my 360 dearly but it couldn't match Killzone's graphics. But overall the 360 has far better graphics than the PS3.

killzone can't touch crysis, crysis is an open world game where killzone 2 is completly linear, killzone 2 is only DX9. The textures in killzone 2 look pretty low res from my ive seen too

You are crazy man! Killzone 2 pwns Crysis. I have crysis maxed with 16xaa and whatever the max af is and it still does not look as good as Killzone 2. In crysis people's armor does not fragment when its hit like in Killzone 2. Also Killzone 2 is DX10 not DX9.

Well consoles run all their games on so called max settings with extremely high fps. Console games are better optimized. Also the PS3 has quite a powerful CPU and GPU. The 360 has the best graphics eva though.

But no where near the power of a semi decent PC rig.

The Graphics Processing Unit is based on the NVIDIA G70 (previously known as NV47) architecture, which focuses on maximizing per-pixel computation in favor of raw pixel output. The GPU will make use of 256 MiB GDDR3 VRAM clocked at 700 MHz. The GPU has access to the XDR main memory as well.

Therefore no where near modern PC Graphics Cards.
