So will newegg handle shipping costs for a replacement of a DOA part?

They should do,If they dont argue the case with them and tell them "Why should i pay the shipping costs when its not my fault you sent out a dead card"

It must be, because I also tested it with a 500W OCZ PSU with the same results... only thing it could be is the card, so now I just have to wait I guess.

Well I guess I checked this thread too late to respond, but

Yeah, the fan starts and it's REALLY noisy.

I'm pretty sure most video cards are set to boot up at 100% fan speed. Mine does that, but once it loads the drivers and the fan profile (~3 secs) it goes down to 45%. If the fan doesn't quiet down, doesn't this just mean that the card isn't loading the drivers correctly?

Also, this computer (family computer) here had ATi onboard graphics. In this situation I had to uninstall the onboard to install the 8600GT drivers. There was a conflict between the ATi CCC and NVidia Control Panel, as well as the drivers. That would be the only situation I would think you would need to uninstall the onboard graphics. You can always just reset the BIOS if it doesn't work.

WOOT... Intel Onboard ftw. You don't have to uninstall anything to install ATi's or Nvidia's.

Yeah mine does that. But default is 40% for me.

Yo candy you should be able to get more than 3.0 on your chip. I got 3.6 on my e6550 with no voltage bump

Yeah I know, I ran 3DMark06 with it at 3.2 and I know I could get higher, I'll try it someday I've just gotta read a bit more into oc'ing CPUs cos I dont know when the right time to up the voltage is. Also I should get a better heatsink first too.

Not a quality unit whatsoever. Nothing conclusive there. That PSU is not great and although it should be sufficient power for that card, but without knowing what is on the rest of your system, its not possible to be sure. I would suggest your PSU is not the issue.
