Hi all I hope you high tech people can help me here. I seem to have a Conflict between my External HD and my MP3 player and USB Card reader. Whenever the HD is plugged in the computer insists that the devices are not recognized however as soon as I remove the HD i can user both. Strangely my webcam will work as well as the HD. Any advice to solve this issue would be helpful as i can't put music on my MP3 player without first transfering the music from the external drive to the C drive then copying to the MP3 player. Any Ideas?

Go into your BIOS and check your boot priority and also disable booting from external device and that should take care of that.

and what about my own apparent conflict? Other forums have no clue so this really is a last ditch effort to solve this problem

Hmm... try waiting to plug your mp3 player in after your usb hard drive is plugged in? Honestly i cant think of what could be causing this issue... Any way you could explain more about it?

Ive plugged the MP3 player in after I plug in the HD and the window stops responding. After i get it closed and try to reopen it's gone from my computer. If the HD is already plugged in the computer just says it found an unrecognized USB device. Trying to get it to add/remove hardware does not work. I know the devices do work as once my HD is unplugged they both work perfect. A few people have said something about trying to draw to much power from USB and even changing the drive letter of the HD. The first can't be the problem as the HD is mains powered and the second was tried and did not work as well
