Cheap Card to run with stock 400W

It depends, you will have to check if the card supports it. Cos with my current card it says in the manual you cant use a two 4pin to 6pin converter. The funny thing was they included one in the box

I don't see the problem with one of those. It still gives the power it needs.

I dont know what the problem is either, I'd just rather stick with what it says in the manual. I have a PSU with two 6pin connectors anyway so it didnt matter for me. Might for Stildawn though.

Ok home now this is what it says:

Excel Model: ATX-400
Max. Output Power Is 400W
Imput: Output:
115VAC +12V 18A Max.
10A Max. +5V 40A Max.
60Hz
230VAC +3.3V 28A Max.
5A Max. -5V 0.5A Max.
50Hz

+5V/SB 1.5A Max.

Does that make any sense?

Yeah, that's what we're looking for. The thing you want to be looking at is the +12v... it says 18A, which is what my 9600GT's box said was minimum before I RMA'd it, that'd be cutting it really close. In fact, both nVidia and EVGA support say that minimum is 24A, which means you might run into issues on a heavy load.

I'm not saying that it won't work, but it'd be risky, a 9500GT would be safer... or a 3650.

A 9500GT is definitely the better buy in this case. Unless you're going to get a new PSU, then it's a whole different talk.

Cool the 9500gt is cheaper too and comes with 512mb lol. And Im assuming its better than the 8600gt?

If I was to get a PSU, whats the cheapest PSU I can get?

All PCIe cards require a minimum of 26A total on the 12V rail. That PSU is not designed for anything other than onboard VGA. None of the above cards should be recommended. Yes, it may 'work' but its only a matter of time before it goes 'bang' and then you could end up losing a lot more.
