Trouble Formatting

I recently bought a 1.5TB external drive. I plan to use it to store movies for my PS3 so I need it to be FAT32. When I got it, my computer wouldnt let me format it into FAT32 so I took it to work and I used the CMD prompt to format it. For some reason it only let me format 320gb, to which I found out that I needed to use a app like Swissknife for large drives, but now when I go to format it, it wont let me format the full 1.5TB only the 320GB. Is there a way to fix this? I just need all of it as FAT32.

Thanks for any help.:good:

if you format it to ntfs you will get all the space back, im sure after you format it in ntfs you can format the whole 1.5tb using swissknife into fat32 :D

What is the manufacturer of the external drive? You will need to use their utility or another third party utility to create a large Fat32 volume. Also, you will need to re-partition the drive to get the extra space back into one contiguous volume if you want. Check out gparted.

What file system was on the drive when you bought it?
