GPU With Dual Monitor

I'm going for the dual monitor setup, but here's my question.

I currently have an onboard nVidia card with 256Mb memory, which I use for a few games and the effects of Ubuntu as that's my OS. I'm puchasing a second monitor, and a 16Mb Matrox Dual Headed card to allow me to plug both of my monitors into. But, if both of my monitors are plugged into my Matrox 16Mb card, will I be able to use my onboard graphics card for everything else like graphic effects, Photoshop and gaming?

Cheers! :)

Yes....but onboard graphics usually suck... you would be better off putting money to purchase something at least halfway decent such as an nvidia 8400gs and not using onboard at all,a pci express card like an ati 3450 or nvidia 8400 would support dual monitors on a single card.

you can get some pretty bangin dual dvi output graphics cards for WICKED cheap. if you have 100 or so bucks, you can go a long way. DUAL MONITORS FTW!!!

DUAL MONITORS FTW!!!

Love it!

I have a budget of about £50, Won't be using it to play really intensive games.. maybe stuff like Unreal Tournament 1, Red Faction, Max Payne etc.

Any good PCI-E or PCI cards out there for me with dual output?

Cheers! :)
