HD 4850, where to go from here?

So my current video card is an ATI Radeon HD4850 and so far it's been working amazingly for the gaming I'm doing.

I was just curious, but what video cards (nVidea or ATI) are able to outclass the 4850? Preferably ones that don't break my bank account, but I'm just interested to hear what else is out there.

Thanks in advance!

...Preferably ones that don't break my bank account...

Define "break my bank account"? :)

Above the 4850 on the AMD/ATI side you would be looking at the 4870s and the X2 models. On the nVidia side you would be looking into the 200 series such as the GTS250 or GTX260 and higher. You can find great cards for under $200 now. The next jump from there is into the $350-500 range.

GTS250= 9800gtx+, which in a good amount of benches is similar to the 4850... Upgrade choices for a 4850 are limited and would include 4870,4850x2, 4870x2, GTX260 Core 216, Gtx 285, or Gtx 295. All of these would be pretty pricey, and for most games right now the 4850 should be pretty sufficient....unless you have a crossfire capable motherboard and you could toss in another 4850 and run crossfire.

youre pretty much set for the time being. im sure your card can handle any game thats currently out. i would wait for the 4870s to go down in price or for the geforce 260 to go down.
