delete entire disk

hi. how do i totally delete my old computer's disk including windows (& partitions) et al so i can reinstall? :confused::o
 
You can just use your Win XP installation CD to format the drive before reinstalling (it gives this option when you first boot from the CD). If you mean actually making certain that all files are completely deleted you will need to use third party software that overwrites everything on the drive
 
You can boot off a Gparted disk that will wipe the whole thing out. It is a free download, you can google search it. Or if you are going to install windows, windows installer disk can do it as well.
 
Well that's a safe assumption since it's in his first post. But any other method in this thread will work.
 
i think some of the people are interested in some kind of wipe. using xp and wiping from my experience has still had traces of issues i had before the installation. if i goto the trouble to wipe its low level maybe from the hd manufacture or as some software mentioned above.
