Un hacking

While talking to my friend things like words or links she didn't type would appear, she thinks she's been hacked, and I think so too. My question is, how can she go about un hacking herself? Would restoring her computer to factory settings do any good? And is it in anyway possible to see who hacked you?

I don't know I know a few hackers and they mess with me all the time :/ restoring her computer to factory settings i don't know if it will work most people if they were to put anything on a computer they would probably put it under recovery files.

I just look for Foreign Addresses that look suspicious and manually end them (I get DDOSed a ton!) CMD(Command Prompt) type in
Netstat -o and it gives you a list of Active Connections w/ foreign Addresses with the PID if you know that isn't your web browser or anything you're running just do Taskkill /F /PID "the number" and hit enter.

If you think you are really being hacked (I don't know the probability of it) then I would do a clean re-format and install. Otherwise just run a virus, spyware, adware scan and see what pops up.:D

can you be a little more specific as to what exactly is happening. i'm skeptical that she has actually been hacked. mysterious links and things like that could just mean some annoying spy/ad ware.

If a hacker writes a program intended to hack a particular computer, it may or may not be caught by an antispyware or antivirus. But that is done only by high end hackers. In general, most of so called hackers use readymade trojans or keyloggers, that they plant the on the target computer; and they can be easily caught by updated antivirus software.

To prevent hacking, you should use a good firewall, antivirus, antimalware and keep them updated. Also keep updating Windows.

If you have been exploited, then reformat your computer. I need to do a PSA on secure passwords...

Most of the time you get hacked is due to not secure password.
