Is there going to be anything better in the near future?

So I'm thinking about getting a new laptop for college and I've had my eye on this laptop for a while now. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172511&type=product&id=1218043606827&DCMP=KNC-TLC&ref=25&loc=SHP&srccode=cii_13736960&cpncode=23-31199302-2 it has been the best in its price range for a while now and I was wondering how much longer that was going to be true. I still have a little longer to wait and see if anything better comes out (until about July) and I'm looking for something in the price range of $1000 - $1300. Do you think I should go ahead and get this beast now or do you think something significantly better will come out soon?

P.S. I play a lot of PC games and I'm a pretty advance user, so I'm not just looking for something to type documents and browse the web

Well if you waiting for next semester to come around (meaning after summer), then I would wait until it gets closer to purchase.

Ya, thats what I was thinking. The only thing is that this laptop has been on and off gateway's website for a little while so I'm afraid it won't be available when I actually want to buy it.

For 1000-1300 you can find many laptops in that range. I wouldn't say new technology will arise over the summer, but you'll get more bang for your buck.

Hmm, I don't know about that. There really isn't anything better than this laptop in that price range. But yes, maybe some laptop with even better specs will come out over the summer.

Actually there are quite a few with similar specs in that price range, and by the end of summer there should be some better deals, and more bang for the buck.
