tranfer RAM

io, my previous laptop crashed ( I guess because of a problem with the hard disk); Now I want to transfer the original RAM (512Mb) and/or the extra RAM i added (also 512Mb) to an other laptop.
I was wondering if the RAM i want to transfer is also damaged, could this cause everlasting harm to the RAM or other parts of the other laptop? (even after I removed the RAM again?)
And can I transfer both RAM, or should I only transfer the RAM i added myself (transfering from one toshiba A100-series to another toshiba A100-series)?

Thanks in advance!

Since the laptops are the closely related, the RAM from the one should be compatible. Also, were there other problems with your old laptop other than the hard drive? If it was only the hard drive that died, your first machine should still work and the RAM most likely is fine.

I'm not sure whether it was only the hard drive that died, but do you think if I put the RAM of the broke laptop in the still working one and afterwards that RAM appears to be damaged, this could affect the original RAM of the still working computer?
anyway thanks for the fast response
