lost wireless in ubuntu

ive had wireless work on my linux laptop. i installed the madwifi driver, and it works. but ever since i installed vmware, i cant connect to wireless anymore. also, when i click the networking icon in the system tray thing, it only shows wired connection. anyone have any ideas?

this is what i followed when i first installed ubuntu.

I'm sorry man I didn't get home till late last night. I can say if you want a really quick response head over to the ubuntu forums and ask there. I know how to do it but I don't remember the commands off of the top of my head.

dude anything for a fellow 311 fan. your laptop is looking for the old software to connect. GOTO :control panal/admin options/services/wireless zero config/ stop/ start/ ok/ apply. Then right click on wireless comp in system tray and walla, find network hit connect type wep or whatever. USE WINDOWS TO CONNECT. "The fish that keeps on swimming is the first to chill upstream" -311
