Hey guys if you wouldn't mind I'd like some help.
I'm currently visiting my mother and she decided she wanted to set up a wireless network for her laptop. So she gave me the stuff to set it up and it wasn't working, so through process of elimination I realized it was actually a line problem. So I called the ISP and they fixed the connection. Problem solved right? Not exactly. I set up the connection through a DSL router to the laptop initially. . .but I couldn't get the new wireless router to work. So what I have now:
I have a connection through the DSL box
I have a wireless router that it appears to be bypassing
The wireless router is a Linksys router.
The wireless card is a linksys card.

If anyone has the time to help me out a little it would be greatly appreciated ^^;

Make sure that your wireless router is configured right. Meaning it should be pushing out wireless signal. If the line was checked that means it's more than likely a issue on your side. Follow the diagrams in the Linksys box and make sure the drivers are installed on the laptop for the Wifi card.

Hi, Usually ISP's give you a free cd for wireless setup and that detects your router and such things.
- make sure you have everything setup CORRECTLY.
>> Read instruction manual to see a clear image of if you are connecting the modem/dsl to the router correctly and then i think if you have another network cable, that can go into the eth slot in the laptop.
or if the laptop is wifi (wireless enabled) then you can connect with no wires.
