No category view in control panel

I have been googling this for about 6 months and to no avail. I've tried every fix I have read but can't get my category view back in the control panel :(

After we got hit by antivirus 2009 back last October, I've tried to read support sites on how to return the category view because I cannot find anything in classic view, but I've run out of options.

I have tried registry fixes, I have already been to Tools>Folder Options and neither worked.

Anyone have the way to return my control panel back to category view??

Are you running XP ?

If you are have you tried this
You may have Control Panel displayed as a menu on the Start Menu.

Right-click on the Start Menu button, Properties, click the Start Menu tab, Customize button. Click on the Advanced button and where it says Start menu items see if the option “Display as a menu” is highlighted, if it is change to the option “Display as a link”

Yes I am running XP SP2 and yes, I have already looked at the properties of the start menu and I have "display as link" checked.

Still doesn't change.

Is the problem at the Start Menu, click control panel or is it once you are in Control Panel and can't see the option for category view.

So, you're not seeing this? Do you see everything else?

You may well have tried these solutions

In Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options and under "General Tab" and Tasks, click "Show common tasks in folders"

or

In the registry navigate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and if there is a
DWORD 'ForceClassicControlPanel' then delete it
(Save your registry first)

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to this... but I have tried both of those solutions already.
