External Hard drive not recognized by MAC. serious problem here

I plugged in an external hard drive that was used primarily on macs into my PC and then tried to open it back up in a MAC and mac wont recognize it. I saved two files on the disk. Please help, very important situation for me

Your pc should not have recognized it, since it was formatted for the Mac
to use it.

You would have had to re format the drive so that your pc could use it.

If that's the case, all you Mac data is lost.

That's only if the Mac formatted it in HFS+ and not FAT32. However, if the PC formatted it with NTFS then the Mac would not *natively* recognize it.
 
the external is FAT32 and was used previously between the two platforms no problem. I went back to PC and deleted the two files i saved, and other funny files that u can see on PC when mac saves something, and now it works ok. but that was very strange.Thanks for your attention everyone!
