Can it handle online college education programs on the net, browsing the net, watching netflix movies and steaming video to my xbox 360?

Netbooks are made for basic needs like internet, e-mail, word processing. I wouldn't rely on a netbook to convert movies or stream them.

Yes, you can use netbooks for simple tasks as JTM pointed out. For the most part they are not useful for much else. I have, however, also had great success using them for watching Netflix movies. You should not have a problem streaming movies off of them to your 360 either. This will just depend on your network speed.

...just don't expect to watch full HD material (H.264 encoded or VC-1 especially) at a respectable frame rate. If you must do this, look for a unit with nVidia's ION chipset. They are coming soon.

That doesn't mean people won't try to play HD material on it. Most netbook-class computers have a greater resolution than standard definition material anyway. Some do have rather high resolution screens...ridiculously high resolution screens for what they are...

I have an MSI Wind U120 and it has the netbook standard 1024x768. It's pretty good, I can watch some movies on it in high quality. I wouldn't recommend it however for any type of viewing material in HD.

The netbook standard (if you can call it that) for display resolution is 1024x600. To my knowledge the U120 has this resolution as well. I have only seen a few special machines from HP and Sony with much higher resolutions, and I wouldn't really classify those in with netbooks.
