Hello, I recieved a laptop (Compaq CQ50 to be precise) for Christmas and I have installed/ downloaded alot of stuff to it and I was wondering if there is any way to just remove everything I have put on the computer.
Thanks
Yes there is, Opon boot when It says Compaq, It will say Press F10 for system recovery or something similar to that. Run the system recovery on it, It will bring the laptop back to the very first time you ever powered it on.
Dont do this, that will mean fully installing windows again and all drivers, which is idiotic and pointless, just do as has been said above, either restore or just remove the programs from add/remove programs.
If you do the add or remove programs thing then it will leave residue, to get rid of the larger parts (it will leave stuff like registry entries, but these are tiny), go to my computer>C:>program Files>symantec
Go to the folder that you have just uninstalled, for example, lets say your computer came with norton firewall and you wanted to get rid of it, it would be C:>program Files>symantec
Delete this symantec folder. It won't affect your system, it will save hard drive space and keep your folder more manageable
