I am looking to build a new comp for my personal use and I want to keep with in a 400 dollar budget.

I am not a gamer I just use it for school and online stuff

If not what would be more reasonable?

Yeah, $500 would be more reasonable... but it depends what it needs to include, if it doesnt need an OS or monitor than $400 would be plenty for your uses... if you need os, $500ish, and maybe ~$600 with monitor and os.

Yeah I most likly would have a monitor for it and I have an XP disk already that I can use

Not really a need for a 9500gt 1gb version, and why would you go with a mobo with such an older chipset?

Staying in the budget dude. That chipset works great. I just built my kids
a pc based on the same specs.

Why do you need to pick apart my build? For what he needs, this will do
everything and more, plus it's within his budget.

Just sayin, a 6100 is kinda an older chipset that wont support newer cpu's if the op wants to upgrade... As the amd chipsets will support any newer cpu's for at least a few revisions(eg- my friend has a 680g $50 budget mobo and with the latest bios update for it, they could put a Phenom II AM3 socket into it)

Funny how you didn't chose that board for your contribution here.

I chose a better amd 770 board that would better fulfull the requirements of the op, and besides, its an older gigabyte board that isnt sold anymore... Not trying to start an argument here, just sayin what i feel would work best for the op;)

Edit: it was a gigabyte board, not a foxconn, and its not sold anymore, but you can see it here:

You'd be able to run Photoshop on the build I put together.

If you need an OS, let me know. I'll tweak the build a bit to fit it into the budget.

Nope its gonna be a linux system no OS needed

Any one else have any opinios or hints for me
