So I decided to try out the ASUS P6T since newegg had one open box for 167. At first try, the CPU wouldn't recognize one channel of RAM, so I took out the CPU and noticed a couple of pins bent on the socket. I straightened them out and now everything is ok. I guess I know why it is open box now lol.

specs:
PC&P 750W Silencer
Antec case that my friend TK gave me.
ASUS P6T LGA1366 mobo
6X1GB G.Skill DDR3-1600 (9-9-9-24)
EVGA 9800GTX+ Superclocked edition
EVGA 9800GTX+ regular card (got from newegg for 104.99 recert)
etc....

I managed to get within a thousandth of a second of my 9.015 that I got with the same processor in my Gigabyte board, but I haven't really tried hard to push past 214x21 yet.

What a beast man, great stuff. Maybe you will be able to go subs 9's with this board. The cable management looks great too. That's one powerful computer for a "budget build" :P

it really is on a budget

PSU - 109 shipped newegg
CPU - 229 from Fry's
mobo - 167 newegg open box
9800GTX+ - 150ish newegg
other 9800GTX+ 105 recertified newegg
3x1GB RAM - 99 shipped
2nd kit of RAM, identical - 59 shipped
yeah I really need to get into the 8's with this thing. It did 214x21 at a lot lower vcore on the ASUS than the Gigabyte board (1.44 vs 1.6something I think) so who knows hehe...
