i hope this the right section to post this because the sound card is integrated with the motherboard.

i have a ASUS P5K SE and the sound driver's do not function properly after a period of time. its random, it can happen anytime, i have my taskbar a bit bigger so i can fit more tabs in, but when my sound decides to stop working, it goes back to the normal size. my sound completely stops working. i have all the drivers installed, and this issue still occurs.....

if you need more information just ask...im in a hurry and typed this out pretty quickly, i know i left out a lot of information i just cant remember anything right now.

i had issues with my onboard sound in my P5K Deluxe as well. i couldnt find a way to sort it out though, so i bought a "creative sound blaster audigy se 7.1 sound card"

I have ASUS P5QL, and after turning off my computer, the motherboard
whistles really high-pitched. I have to cut the power with 0/1 PSU button
to silence it.

i just got off the phone with ASUS tech support and they say its the power supply....i'll get a new one and see if this still happens

They come up with new ones everyday. Thats a leap from what I thought it might be.

I bet they didnt tell you they would refund your money for the new Power Supply if it didnt work:P

I tend to agree. Be sure the sound comes from the board and not the power supply. It is really hard for me to imagine how a power supply would cause a sound from a mainboard. If the sound actually comes from the power supply then I would change it out.

What are you talking about?
His onboard sound keeps going out.

His motherboard or power supply is not making a sound.
