Athlon 7850 Kuma Dual-Core (2.8 gigahertz)

The 7850 has been out for a week or so now... But i dont see amd releasing any 45nm dual cores atm, they seem to be focusing on tri cores and quad cores for phenom II atm.

From what I have saw the 7850 doesnt overclock any better then the 7750. Bumped it up 100mhz trying to get 10 more bucks out of it.

There might be some 45 X2 later on. The X3 really makes the upper end X2 outdated. They are already selling X3 with a good core just to keep up with demand. The amount of Quads with 2 bad core are probable pretty slim, so I say they will come out with a few just for the X2 demand.

Holy hell, how did they get that processor so cheap? Is there something I'm missing? Isn't this comparable to the E7400?

It's AMD's niche right now, they lost the superhigh end, are about tied in teh midrange gaming, and have the sub-$100 market, it's like 5-10% slower than the e8400 from the benches I saw, and the e8400 is like $180 (though overclocks alot better of course.)
Still a 7750, just bumped the multi up .5x. The tested chips I found online got to ~3300mhz, same as my 7750 (actually got it to 3.4ghz albeit quite unstable.)

I think the Athlon 7750 Dual-Core processor has about the same processing power of the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400.

I would look at the AMD Phenom 8650 Toliman Tri-Core processor. It has more processing power than the Athlon 7750 Dual-Core and is only $20 more.

I am still wondering when Intel is going to drop the prices on the Core 2 Duo processors. They are presently over priced.

Simple, when people stop buying them. Supply & Demand, they keep selling cpus at current price they will stay at that price until sales drop alot, then will lower prices again.

^based on the phenom processors, it has 4 cores, but 2 are disabled, it also has an L3 cache, which adds 2mb extra, so better multitasking.
