Kind of weird pricing lately

ive noticed that the price of DDR ram has gone way over the price of DDR2, i mean i went on crucial and done a scan for a friend and for a 1gb stick of DDR ram they were asking for £25 whereas i can get a 1gb stick of DDR2 for £10!

how comes?

It's kinda like cars when they first come out they cost a bit but as it ages it goes down in price. After awhile they become fewer and fewer so the price goes up and up =]
(as for the cheaper one maybe they are trying to get rid of every DDR stick they have so they can move on kinda like Newegg with the QX9000s :) )

Yeah, i guess with both AM3 and LGA 1366 becoming more popular the demand for DDR3 is increasing. Thus price /\

yes but in my local boot sale i can pick up a 1gb stick of DDR for around £4
Is a boot sale like a neighbourhood garage/yard sale? If so, most people will sell their old used stuff for fairly cheap.

Old parts are expensive. My sister just bought a 1 GB stick of ram, pc-2700 I think,
for $50. Whereas I just upgraded my motherboard, and I spent $30 on 2 GB of pc-6500.

I spent like 3 days searching for old parts to upgrade my socket 478 pentium 4.
Definitely not worth it. Cheaper to get a new motherboard, cpu, and ram - then
just sell the old parts you don't need.
