Can 4890 hold its own against GTX 285?

I have been having an argument, and can a 4890 compare to a gtx 285 for $100 less? As i see it can go neck and neck most of time, neck and neck meaning at about 5 fps. Not saying it's better but it can compare.

Actually.... the 4890 doesnt even compete with the GTX285, the GTX275 is what nvidia launched to compete with the 4890, as the ati cards are slower overall, and the gtx275 is still faster than a 4890 is most cases.

If I recall a 4870 is about comparable to a GTX 260 either 192 stream processors or 216, and in most games the GTX 280 beats the 4870 by a healthy margin, so an overclocked 4870 (Which is pretty much what the 4890 is) cant compare to the better design of the 280
