Hi my firend has an outdated AGP system and needs a new card. We have $120 to spend. Not enought to buy a ney system, i bought him the 2400 and I have 30 days to return it. Is it worth it to return it and get the 3850 or is there any other AGP card that we can buy that will be better, he wants to be able to play call of duty at least at medium settings. He also has l;ike 5 pci (norm) slot so he can get a PCI card.

Your kinda shooting yourself in the foot with an agp upgrade though, as if you upgrade to a newer mobo+cpu later on you would need a pci-e gpu, not an agp motherboard. So just some thought, you might wanna have your friend consider just saving the money til they can get a better rig.

This.

There are three options:

1) Get the 3850. It's the best AGP option and will be able to run a lot of games decently (not great).

2) Wait for the 4770 AGP version. I believe Powercolor is coming out with an AGP version--don't ask me why--and this will be almost as good as a 4850.

3) Save money, wait it out, and upgrade mobo/gpu later to less dead technology.
