Sound Problems in New OS

Hello all Danda here,

So I have a small problem within my sound due to a new OS.

I installed the OS like normal to a computer, but when I plugged in my headphones there was no sound. Fortunately I had a new Sound Card nearby and plugged in the new Sound Card.

When I put the disk in and tried to install the Sound card Driver, it says it cannot read the Sound card, 'please insert the hardware and try again'.

So can anyone here help me? Would appreciate it!

Go online and check the mobo/sound card manufacturer's website for the latest driver. It's possible that your current driver CD is not compatible with your new OS.

Ok so I got the sound working but I got another problem.

I cant use my Mic on the head set. I tried changing the settings in the Volume control and it does not work. Not on L4D, TF2, Vent, or WoW.

I need my Mic for many things (Especially for gaming!) I put in my sound card and now I cant use the Mic! What could be the problem?
