Is my i7 920 and motherboard too hot?

Hi,

I bought around 6 months ago the following pc

i7 920 2.66 Ghz
Asetek Liquid CPU Cooling System For Intel LGA1366

However my idling CPU core temps are in the mid to low 40sC (e.g Core0 will be 45C and the rest will be 42-41)

I ran Prime95's Large In-Place FFT test for 25 mins and got temps of
Core 0 - 83-4 (100%)
Core 1 - 80-1 (100%)
Core 2 - 80-1 (100%)
Core 3 - 78 (100%)

My motherboard temp is 87 on idle.

thanks

Jon

I dont have a i7...

but my temps on air are like 32c. So yeah it looks way to hot imo. But I wouldnt offically know or anything lol.

that's waaaay to high for a water cooling setup. even for a crappy set like that.
did you use thermal paste at all? did you follow the manual when you applied the set?

I bought the PC from Cyperpower so they did all the construction.

They have advised me that

"With our watercooling in the dead of winter we might get idle temps under 30C, typical BIOS readings at idle are 35-45 and RealTemp 35-40C. 45 idle, 85 load is nothing to worry about but sounds more like overclocked temps.

Chances are that you have a dust maggot infestation so get a can of compressed air and blast them out. Pay particular attention to the CPU cooler's radiator and fan. Also if you have a small case you will get higher temps, since you have the ASETek cooler you can add a fan for a push-pull configuration which can make a big difference to the temps."
