Few Problems With New PC

Ok now I am working at 100% Fan Speed and the GPU is not overclocked ok
so now I tried playing GTA at low texture setting which requires 381MB of the GPU resources and evga precision was on.
Now i am getting framerates of 40FPS-71FPS
But the game still lags sometimes for a blink of an eye the FPS drop down to 20 and then again they are 40+
But the game still lags
Can you tell me what is the problem
I have haf 932 which is a pretty airy case but still i dont get the lag
is something wrong with my GTA IV

You have the 1.01 patch for GTA IV? GTA IV is just a really demanding shader intensive game though, what res are you playing at...

1440x900 tried both 60Hz and 75 Hz

19 inch screen Philips but for now i am using Analog cable as i have ordered a digital cable

But even then why does it lag it worked alright at low setting on
my friend's laptop having 9600M GT

I will try the latest patch thanks and is there anyway i can check my GPU that there is nothing wrong with my GPU any test or software

Or something is wrong with windows 7 64 bit
and I forgot to tell my temps were 55C while playing GTA IV is that normal and then it went uptill 58-60

Those temps are fine while playing gta IV, if the patch doesnt work you may need to look into a few other places, but try that for now.

Ok thanks
I am really freaked out because I bought this PC very expensive right so I dont want anything to go wrong with it and Just when I tried the first game GTA IV I faced dissapointment

Ok so this is tha height
something is downloaing on my PC so its on but i leave the monitor off and GPU fan speed is at auto mode and the gpu is not overclocked the temps i am getting on my keybboard are 53C no application is there except 3d mark download is going on so please tell me what to do

GPU's naturally run quite hot. The GTX series cards I think can withstand >100C just about. My 260 idles about at 50C.

What a relief thanks

I was tensed
thank you so what else can i do test the GPU

and I am still a bit confused on the RAM part do I just change the frequency in the bios
DRAM Frequency to 1600MHz
and let the
DRAM Voltage be on AUTO or
should I also set the DRAM voltage to 1.65V

Which CPU cooler will enable me to overclock maximum I have these coolers available here

The cheapest one is OCZ vendetta
These are the only ones I am getting here

v8 is worth $117
thor's hammer is $97
OCZ vendetta and Coolermaster n520 are worth $50

All these prices are what i am getting here so please tell me which one should i go for

You dont have the S1283V available there? Of those the thors hammer and V8 would be best, and perform similarly.. so i would go with the thors hammer. Set the correct timings for your memory though, the ones mobos usually pre set arent the best timings your memory can run alot of times. Hows gta IV after patching?

Well now its working fine on low settings only but sometimes it lags but sometimes it doesnt otherwise every game runs awesome
well I bought 1600 mhz so i dont want to waste its potential

I also thought thor's hammer is best
thanks

and I got 14 seconds as super pi score do you thinks thats fine

14seconds is about right for a stock clocked core i7 920.

What does that about mean is it low or high

can you please tell me about my memory
i have set DRAM FREQUENCY - 1600MHZ
do i have to change the voltage or not
aand is there any application like evga precision for the RAM

No... you overclock memory in the bios... Just set your memory to 1.65 or leave it at auto, up to you. When i say about i say because there are variables, high 13's or low 15's could also be the superpi scores of that cpu, as it depends on memory speed, memory cas latencies, programs running, etc... Although once overclocked i would expect to see mid to low 11's if you get it up around 3.8Ghz.

Thanks for all the information
and I saw your superPi score with quadcore pretty impressive better than many i7s thats awesome.
and how can i get one of the topscore .
Can i even get it on air

Im running a xigmatek S1283, slightly lower cooler than the thors hammer. My score is only where its at since i have such a high clock, a Core i7 at 3.6/3.7 would beat its score... but my cpu is fine until my next upgrade lol. On air you should be able to get 3.8Ghz or so depending on your chip.
