Phenom II 940 Vs Phenom II 955

i would get the 955 because when you upgrade to am3 your set with the 955 because the 940 doesnt have a ddr3 memory controller and 940 has 940 pins socket am3 is 938 wouldnt work in future

am3 doesnt have triple channel yet,4 or 8 gigs would work and yes if you have the cash i would do a complete upgrade Motherboard,4-8 GB DDR3,CPU,4890 = One kickAss Rig!

Okay, I'll look into that, thanks again :D

EDIT:
The price only comes out to about $10 more with a DDR3 motherboard and 6GB of DDR3 RAM, because I found a Gigabyte motherboard with rock solid reviews for only $80!

It'd have to wait until late July/early August though...
But I'm getting things lined up now.

You dont want 6GB, either go 4gb or 8gb, if you put 3 modules in it will drop to single channel, slowing the memory down.
 
Well i7 isn't an option :) 940 is AM2+ 3.0 GHz 955 is AM3 3.2 GHz so all you would need is an AM3 board and you'll be set for awhile (so long as AMD doesn't change socket type) Intel is changing socket types pretty fast :D
