Hello everyone , First post .. I am on a couple of model airplane sites like this but it's my first time here ..

I only fool around with a personel computer for myself . I have upgraded the monitor to a 22 inch LCD Samsung from the e-machine one it came with..

Now .. The question . The new monitor works pretty well... But it sometimes locks up or is real slow at showing videos and is only being used in Analog ..
What I'd like to buy is a card for my PCI slot that has some onboard memory and "Things??" to improve the video and picture quality . And if possable I'd like a TV tuner with the Remote Control..

That's all- Plenty I know .. If it is even possible ? Thanks Sooo much for taking the time to look at this .. Oh yes my computer is a e-machine T2792 and the slot I have to use is a PCI one .... Thanks Again , Don

What kind of videos are you having problems playing? Online videos such as Hulu/youtube/etc? Most of those today are flash based and very resource intensive. Assuming you still have the original specs on that emachines, I'd say that's your problem. Low-end specs and probably lots of junk running in the background. Adding more RAM and cleaning up what all's running on the computer would probably help improve the performance, but there's probably not too much else that could be done on such an old system.

You could get another video card, but they really don't help THAT much when it comes to video playback, especially online. Now a TV Tuner should work fine, assuming it's not HD. Though due to the specs of the system, you'd probably need one with an onboard compressor and such. These little "USB stick" tuners require much more processing power and tend to really bog older systems down.

Thank You for the reply .. I have added to my RAM it won't seem like much to you guys but I have it up to 750 mb and the free ram program says that I have 550mb thats free to use ... ?? I would like to get rid of anything running in the background but have never been very good at finding a way to do that .. It is stuff like you tube and hulu that runs slow .... sometimes...

So .. With 2 ram slots maybe I can get 2 gig of ram and then buy a TV tuner .. ?? Right ?? Any suggestions on a good tuner .. I really don't need a video card with some ram on it .. I am not too :confused:or very smart about these things .. Thanks again for looking at my gibberish , Don
