Time Warner adds legalese to subscriber agreements for tier caps

Ugh, will it never end? Time Warner is one company I wouldn't mind seeing fall to this recession. Too bad most people don't even know what bandwidth is and thus allow these sorts of things to happen. If everyone knew what was happening Time Warner's efforts would be like them signing their own death warrant.

True, but then what would we have left, comcast? Around here the only highspeed is time warner, in my area i cant even get dsl anymore...(and i live the middle of a ****in city...)

Well we need more competition in these areas to stop the semi monopoly TW and AT&T have(only providers in my area which is why Triad was one of the places they wanted to "test" caps).I dont trust TW one bit after they have repeatedly made statements then reworded them the next day after uproars were heard.

Yeah, there definately needs to be more competition between telecoms. Thats why wireless service is so much better (as far as competition) because typically there are quite a few more services available in an area than just one or two. Obviousl there are exceptions to this for those who live in the middle of no where. Telecoms typically own the lines that they use to deliver the services they provide, why would they share them with competing companies? A competeing company isn't going to run new lines on top of what's already there just to compete, they're going to setup camp in a totally new area. So really there's not a very good way for them to compete which is why there should be good legislation that protects the people that use the services.

Time for me to write an open letter to TW and let them know that I will be canceling my services with them if they do metered bandwidth.

It's just too bad that there isn't more (as a customer) that you can do to show your displeasure with what they're doing. If everyone left they'd be up a creek without a paddle.

And thats not gonna happen because of how half the people who have twc dont know anything about whats happening...

Yeah they will at some point all do it they just need one to get away with it.

I personally will cancel all my services if they pull that crap and if I can't find anyone else then screw it....internet is nice but not worth being gouged for.

I sent email to the address they have stating my intentions to drop if they pull this and didnt get a reply (surprise) .I am sure it didnt pass the delete button. They are getting things in place to do this....ie. legal jargon ,they are just waiting till they get a toe hold on us while they "reducate us the consumers".They are probably counting on people bluffing and not canceling service after they get metering passed
