Ill be using my old 250gig hard drive from this PC & my case. During this holiday season I most likely will get another GPU and set them up in crossfire.

How do you think this will perform? Looks pretty good to me.

How old ? Older drives can be a bottleneck .

If your looking at OC'n, The 710 will OC well but will produce more heat than the 720 getting there.
I'd look for a nice aftermarket CPU cooler and some thermal paste, I use MX2, Arctic silver 5 is another good one.

do not go crossfire on that board, it drops the PCI-e from a single x16 slot to dual x8 slots, so you will get very little performance increase, take this from someone that made that mistake, i went SLI on my board which is single x16 or dual x8 x8 and it is a waste of money to get a second card, i wish i'd have sold my one card and got an upgrade of a single card instead

No single cards at the moment will take up an entire x8 slot, or x16slot except maybe a GTX295. An 8600gt sure as heck will not take up all the bandwidth from an x8 slot....

unlocked multi's arent gonna help on stock cooling

A locked either , stock cooling sucks in general. More heat and noise.

With that build you may as well get the 720, it compliments that board, and a good CPU cooler. If you can't afford both get the 720 and leave it at stock speed until you get your CPU cooler. While your at it get a couple of silent fans, your gonna need them.

I have 2 120mm fans. They are both SUPER silent.

Its not that old. Its a SATA drive bought last holiday season so its not that old.

unless you live in a tropical country you will be able to OC on stock cooler, I have been able to get my chip from 2.66GHz to 3.1 and it doesn't go over 50 degrees C on stock cooling and im in UK in summer, so about 25+ degrees C ambient (if we are lucky for a couple days :P). I got it to 3.8 and stable but 70 degrees idle, so you can get it higher than normal clocks, but not HUGELY high :P

And those temps would be like 40 idle on an aftermarket cooler:P
