Hi All...

I have this in my system at the moment (see sig)
Gskill RAM

Now I just want to do another quick check to see if there are any problems with getting another set to put into my spare slots to get 8gbs...

Im running it at 1600...

Cheers

Ok cool. Was just checking cause I thought I read somewhere (although cant find it now and I might be mistaking) that either AMD or ASUS couldnt have all the ram slots running at full speed that if you put more sticks in the speed went down or something?

Well if you put 4 sticks in it the memory controller will kick it back to 1333 or maybe even 1066, depends on the memory stock voltage because of JEDEC standards. You will have to manually set the speed and timing and voltage in the bios. Even if you enable EPP settings it will still probably get it wrong. And you might have to bump up the memory and CPU N/B voltage.

Yeah, you would need to manually set timings but thats about it. Another thing though is that you may be thinking of using an AM3 cpu in an AM2+ mobo, where you can only run 2 dimm's if they are 1066mhz ddr2(but not 800mhz ddr2).

Ok so just manually set the timings again and it should be sweet? Cause Ive done that to the two I have no so no problem there.
