I am a little lost when it comes to video cards. What should I look for in a good video card the memory clock, gddr, memory, ect?

Video cards were the hardest thing for me to decide on w/ my first computer build a few weeks ago. My head was spinning trying to swim through everything. If you have a particular need - post what you are looking to do - and board members will give you an idea of what you should be looking for - and read this article for best bang for your buck.

This article helped me choose a card ( updated monthly )

XFX and EVGA are brands you can purchase with confidence - and I like to read newegg reviews as well before making a final decision.

you might want to also post your specs on your computer. There are many here that will offer a suggestion for something suitable.

Right now the best singlecard solutions from ati and nvidia are the HD4890 and GTX285 respectively.

the GTX 260 from nvidia seems to be a great piece of equipment

when getting any of these cards though, make sure you have enough room in ur case

it is a great card. the one i bought from newegg has stability issues but an RMA will fix that.

Just as long as its a core216, as the standard 196 core edition is less powerful in fillrate than a GTS250/9800gtx+, but the GTX260 has more memory bandwidth.
