I was building a new computer and I was thinking should I get 2 of
THESE:

for ~ 139.99

OR THESE:

for ~ 199.99

I dont know if I should be too concerned about storage, as I have an external 1TB hdd...I can also add another disk later for more storage if needed....

I guess my question is Which one would you recommend? and if you have any others PLEASE do mention them...

A raid0 of WD Raptor will be a bit small... 120GB, you'll not store all your data on that.
If you have the money you can get a raid0 of Raptor and separately buy an other disc of 1TB or 2x 500GB (non-raid).

I've got a raid0 of Samsung Spinpoint F1 (2x 320GB). these HDD are good too, quiet and fast.

I think these HDD could be good for you

special RAID, 2x 500GB = 1TB, ...

I did not need too much storage as I already have extra drives around...so maybe I should get the two raptors?...think its worth it?
-would I notice much of a difference between using 2 raptors vs 2 RE3's?...if not then I guess I should go for the more memory option....or one ssd and one nice hdd on the side.. ?

Or should I go for two SSD's? no more than $200 total though..... (can I use raid 0 on those even?..)

SSD's are fast enough, I think a raid0 of SSD's would be useless.

----
Sams F1 RAID :
Average Seek Time 8.9ms
Average Latency 4.17ms
----
WD RE3
Average Seek Time 8.9ms
Average Latency 4.2ms
----
WD Raptor
Average Write Time 5.2ms
Average Latency 2.99ms
----

the Raptor is distinctly faster than the others. Thus in raid0 it would be also faster ^^

Your choice must depend of your use.
if you use applications like photo/video editers, a raid0 with a large storage capacity should be nice to get speed in savings etc.
but if you want to play, you can buy a raid0 of Raptors and install on that raid all programs (OS, Steam, MSN, Firefox...) to get high speed during that applications. And separately have an other HDD (500GB for exemple) to save pictures, videos and the rest of your datas.

(tell me if I'm hard to understand, I'm french and my spelling ain't very good ^^)

I understand very well... and that is what I was thinking....but I am wondering if 64 gbs of ssd memory will be enough for me - I will be gaming so I might have a few games installed at a time, I suppose I can always uninstall to make room for another game?...-so many decisions, thanks for the help ! Keep it coming !

a 64GB SSD will never store everything you want. You said you will have games installed and can always uninstall/reinstall games as and when, but what about save games? Making backup after backup would get VERY tedious. If you already have the backup drives then the 2 raptors in RAID0 will be great.

16MB cache and 10k RPM on each drive, a single one would be good enough for some pretty decent gaming, 2 in RAID0 would be mega fast for gaming and depending on how much memory and your processor speed, would be fast for load speeds aswell

You would notice a bigger performance increase between RE3's and the raptors, the RE3 are only 7200RPM so retrieveal speeds would be much lower

=EDIT=

looking through newegg you only have to read the reviews to see the speed, and bear in mind these weren't RAIDing them:

It's very fast! Can't really tell the difference that it is a SATA 1.5gb/s hard drive. No more waiting for a minute before all startup programs are running and ready. It's a great drive to use with a Q9550 CPU. Multi-tasking at it's finest.

Unbelievably fast. Loads stuff in a hurry. Loads Windows Quickly, loads games in a hurry.

thanks!...I like the thought of the SSD, very fast...but it might not be enough room to be comfortable (is that what you are saying?)...wish they had high GB's for nice prices, that would make this all very easy...
I had my eye on this SSD: (what do you think? look at the speeds)...
