Will it work?

I'm going to upgrade my graphics card shortly and I do have one in mind, A GTS 250. I was looking on websites to buy it but all of them say PCI-E DDR3. The label near my video-card slot on the motherboard reads, PCI-E DDR2.

Am I correct in saying that the DDR3 card will not work in a DDR2 slot?

The graphics card onboard RAM has nothing to do with your RAM slots on your motherboard.

You can choose a graphics card with any sort of memory on it, as long as it fits your motherboard slot, assuming you have a sufficient power supply.

Are you 100% sure? Even though it says PCI-E DDR2 that a card that says something like DDR3 will work just fine in it? I really want to make sure before I buy it.
