Temp

I just did my first build with an icore 7 920 and was wondering what the norm operating temp was. Under load it goes up around high 50's to low 60's Celsius. Is that norm? Is it ok? It is all air cooled in a coolermaster 932. Thanks for the help as I am new this.

It's not out of norm.

I am running the stock fan - and have a C0 step i920. My cores idle around 40 degrees - and when I maxed out the processor with Prime95 to test my components after the build - the temps hovered around 80 degrees for all 4 cores.

I'll eventually replace my stock cpu fan later on - but right now - I'm so far from fully utilizing the processors on my PC - it's not even enough to worry about for me.

I suppose u haven't overclocked it yet and you are running stock heatsink. If you ask me those are pretty good temps for a stock heatsink.

My i7 idles in high 30's and after 1 hour of prime95 it is in high 50's/low 60's. If you wanna get an aftermarket cooler I would recommend Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V which is only 40 bucks on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233029
or prolimatech megahalem ( ive read its really good ) http://www.crazypc.com/products/prolimatech-megahalem-508600.html

I would suggest you not run Prime95 anymore until you get an aftermarket heatsink and fan. 80c is pushing oblivion.

40c is fine for idle temps though.

I only ran it to test my system after I built it. I have no reason to run it anymore cuz I'm done adding parts for a while. When / if I decide to overclock - I'll have an aftermarket heatsink / cpu fan.

I may get one before that but it's not at the front of my mind at the moment.
