Anyone Familiar with the MSI Eclipse Plus board ? (Core i7)

I was thinking of getting this board... anyone wanna give me some advice?
does it overclock well? easily?...
I just want at least 3.6-3.8 on air...stabily

Thanks!..but they had to mess with the voltages alot which I do not wish to do-if I can get a board that can do so w/o messing much with voltages then I wish to do so...

Is it worth getting over something like the ASUS P6t7? (not counting the $$ difference)...

I figure Asus seems to have a decent rep with overclocking (I am a novice overclocker btw)....I have not heard much news though which is why I am sketchy about it.... help ?

If you are looking to overclock, this gigabyte board here is a great overclocker:

But with any board, your gonna need to modify voltages to get to higher clocks, and that msi board is an excellent board. Pretty much any board thats going to support ddr3 2000mhz and from a reputable brand such as msi, gigabyte, dfi, asus, etc are going to overclock well. The chip itself and the cooling has MUCH more to do with what kind of clocks you get than the motherboard itself, especially when dealing with high end X58 boards.

yeah I used to want the gigabyte extreme..but now I am looking for true PCIE 2.0 16x slots....such as P6t7 it has 7 16x slots...which may be way overboard, but at least I know its all there if I need it...


I like how they add the sound card though...
-would I notice any difference between using that soundcard and onboard sound ?(on another board)...

Well, its a software x-fi but it still would have better sound than the standard realtek alc888 on other boards. The gigabyte is x16 x16 x8, which anything that can saturate a current x16 slot is only going to use two slots max anyhow(GTX295), the GTX285(say tri sli for example) would not saturate a pcie x8 slot.

isnt water cooling one slot big only for gpus? therefore it would not take up two slots?...idk
but also what if the gpus change and become slimmer even? Idk..just trying to think ahead I guess...

I figure if I get the p6t7 I would not be missing out on anything vs getting a different board....I like to have that thought in my head...Just to know that I am completely ready for expansion...

The reason is that above 4gpu's the cards dont scale well, between three and four cards(tri sli GTX285 vs two GTX295's), there is not a whole lot of difference in performance.
