Hi, I have a phoenix award bios, not sure which version.
In the advanced chipset features I should have the category:system clock but its not there.
Why cant I access this menu in the Bios?
Sometimes manufacturers update the bios and move things around. look in all the areas for clocking and voltage options. if that fails update your bios. do that at your own risk.

Its an acer aspire, I think it must be oem and thats why i cant change the clock speed. Is there a way to get around that. Installing a new bios or something.
this is the newest bios name but i cant find where to download it.
BIOS ID: 12/29/2006-MCP61M-AM-6A61KE11C-00-None
BIOS OEM: This BIOS is exclusively for Acer only (R01-B1) - R01-B1
The pll is texas instruments!
Also I saw a video on youtube with someone overclocking their bios and it was exactly the same bios version that I have Phoenix award v6 00pg.
You could buy the same motherboard you already have but not an OEM one like HP/Sony/Dell or w/e, but be prepared to backup all your data and reinstall windows.. and activate it. :gun:
EDIT: sometimes the non-oem boards have different drivers/hardware. make sure you have those drivers.
Thats too bad. The thing is I want to overclock to have better cpu power but I also want to do it because ive never done it before and I can risk runing into any problems I might run into with oc because its either overclock or get a new motherboard and cpu anyways.
At least if I buy a new motherboard ill be able to overclock it sometime down the road when ill need the extra power.
I cant figure out how to overclock using cpu cool. If you know of any software for oc that is easy to use let me know.
