Feedback: Windows 7 Vs Vista

There is a large debate over performance gains over Vista and 7 that are currently on going. I do plan on upgrading to Windows 7, I've also set up a dual boot so i could test Windows 7. My question is, do you guys think its worth it to reformat and install Windows 7 over my Vista Ultimate, or wait until the fall and reformat once?

Windows 7 is way better than Vista,Just think of 7 been the fixed up,not so greedy version of Vista.

But basicly thats it,its still is Direct x 10....still has most of the features of Vista exept the new sniplet tool which is good.

Im not all for the new toolbar though.

I still dont agree with how microsoft are selling it on as a new Operating system though,Because in reality it isnt! Its just a tweaked up version of Vista....what Vista should have been i nthe first place.

Im still deciding if i should even bother with buying it,even with the £49.99 discount price for pre-orders i still think i could put the money towards something better.
I have Vista Ultimate x64 so...

It should be an upgrade at £50 permanant price for Vista users imo.

Hey man, i feel ya on that one. Windows 7 is what Vista should of been and it sucks that it's going to cost alot to get a new operating system. I enjoyed the RC client for the most part, i just dont have enough space on that partition to go all out and install games to test it out.

I'm going to get Windows 7 when I get new computer :) vista on my computer explorer.exe crashes daily when I open up my computer or documents which really makes me unhappy

My computer is notorious for that...explorer.exe error in both Vista and windows 7,I was hoping that i wouldnt see that error again in 7 but i was wrong.

Im not sure exactly what it is that causes it though its hard to pinpoint

That's strange. I have Vista Ultimate x64 and that never happens to me.

I love Vista and I will not be getting Windows 7.

HI All,
I too am completely happy with Vista. I installed Vista Ultimate about 1.5 years ago. I did have some initial problems with drivers and couple of programs would not run. One I solved by running it in XP Compatability mode and the other (Nero ROM Burning) did not run at all. Of course, I did not need it since Vista has DVD support. Once those were worked out, my system has been completely stable. Never a Blue Screen and all hardware and software work fine. Vista seems bullet proof.

Unless some compelling reason appears, I will not install Windows 7.

Sparky
