Is it worth it to buy a superclocked video card? Specifically a GTX 275 vs a GTX 275 superclocked. Or should I just overclock it my myself?

this varies with the specific cards in question. However, if the price difference is only 5-15% more than the regular 275 for the superclocked edition, just spring for the factory oced version.

Why?

Usually the heatsink would be better and it would run cooler at x mhz then if you bought the regular edition and overclocked it to x mhz.

Hope it makes sense.

If you post the models you were looking for, it would allow us to assist you further.

The theory is that it is exactly how they market CPU's as well.

Example: Q9550 and Q9650. One's clocked higher than the other. Same exact CPU, architecture. It's just that the batch of processor's were better made get's to have the name of the Q9650 while the not as well made ones get the Q9550.

Same exact idea goes to video cards. Superclocked versions have the same GPU as the regular ones but it can usually overclock at higher stable speeds at a cooler temperature due to it being manufactured at a higher quality.

Do you think it is worth it in the end?
