So, I've come to realize that the games I enjoy the most sometimes are the most time consuming(Like MMOs;FFXI). I'd like to find a game that is time consuming but isn't dependent on others in an online world to get things done and is able to be quit out of at any time without repercussions. This would be for PC. Any idea on what one might be?

Try The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY or The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY.
Time consuming, fun and they're single player RPGs.

Really? I always thought those were MMO's...that's why I stayed away from them. I got plenty of MMO time in as it is lol.

Naw ,both it and Morrowind are large open world type single player RPG's and are very fun with lots of content and quests. You can probably get 100 or so hours out of them if you run all the quests and dont rush through them

Not to mention all the user made content available which extends gameplay time A LOT. I'd especially recommend Morrowind, you can get mods that update the graphics so that it looks a lot better. There's even a project being worked on to let you play in the Morrowind universe in Oblivion, allowing you to have all the technical advantages of Oblivion's game engine. They don't have quests working right now, but they're working on it. You can already download the mod, if you have both games and Morrowind's expansion packs, and go to the Morrowind universe.

Nope.
You can get 120+ hours out of Morrowind and about the same out of Oblivion.
I recommend you try them both because they both have something different to offer and they are amazing.
You can pick up Morrowind for about 10$ (with expansions) and you can pick up Oblivion for about 20$ (with expansions) or you can download them both off steam : P

EDIT:
Fallout 3 is an FPS/RPG with wide worlds. Like Elder Scrolls, but in a holocaustic future.
+1, Fallout 3 is amazing :D
