I just got a new wireless card for my Ubuntu desktop that im making, I have a problem though, I got the card inside the PC and turned it on, I don't have the drivers, How do i get the drivers AND Install the drivers?

I am VERY New to linux and does not have a clue on What the HEK to do, Please simplify the language, I really need this quickly, Thanks

What wireless card do you get? You get drivers for it by downloading them from the manufacturers website.

Wireless can really suck in Ubuntu. (any linux for that matter).
But. You can use windows drivers sometimes.

First get the windows driver for it (probably xp, vista should work to) and find the .inf file that's in the drivers. don't download a .exe or .msi installer, you'd probably want to find a .zip of the drivers.
Go into synaptic package manager and download ndisgtk (system>administration>synaptic)
Open it after downloading (sys>admin>windows wireless drivers)
Go to install new driver. Find the .inf file from the windows drivers, and click it.

hopefully this works ;)

Yeah - I just downloaded a driver for my Ethernet card - and saw Ubuntu as one of the O/S options to download a driver for.

:good:
