I need help on building a computer i really dont no where to start off so here's a lil bit of what i want i want a intel mobo a very good mobo a very kick A$$ video card, a very nice cpu cooler not the fan that comes with the processor, and the processor that i want at least 3.2ghz at least 1.5tb hard drive i already have a case and some things that i want to put on it and every thing o and memory i want ballistix the ones with led's and at least 8gb with that and im going to get windows vista premium 64bit thats all i can come up with let me no if you need any more info but help me out thanxs:confused:

^Need a budget and location, Plus i think you mean an intel cpu...intel motherboards arent that great. The only thing 3.2Ghz would be an extreme edition cpu, which is a waste of money if you are not running under ln2 or dry ice benching, the 920 can overclock easily to those speeds.

Sir, I'd really like your advice on a new build for myself! The First Lady will probably give me a budget of only $1K. I am in Calif/USA. I would like to have a system that is fast...no waiting around for stuff to open up. I'll probably want to upgrade to Windows 7 or Vista. I would like to use whatever components that are feasible from my old system. I have a keyboard/mouse and sound system already. I have a Dell XPS 400 w/USB or M/B problems and not really wanting to fix it. The following is a list of what it came with...
(I actually upgraded the memory from 2GB to 4GB)

System Type: XPS/Dimension 400/9150
Ship Date: 3/11/2006

Should start your own thread, not hijack someone elses;)

@Gambino, are you looking for a blu ray burner or a blu ray reader? Just an FYI..unless your gonna be watching bluray movies on your computer they are pretty useless right now.

So sorry...didn't mean to barge in. Please excuse my ignorant thread posting manners. I'm a bit new here! I'll repost a new thread! :o

can i get these on this build

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory (with LEDs) but 8 instead of 6
You want 3 dimms if you put 4 dimms in you cannot run dual channel. The ballistix is only 1333mhz, the memory there is 2000mhz, so depending on what you want...the memory in the list is around 50% faster. 6GB Right now is plenty...down the road if you really NEED more memory, just get another 3x2gb kit for 12gb.
