Gta 4

I'd figure I'd post this here,
I'm trying to patch GTA San Andreas (I started playing again recently : P) and every time I try I get this message "Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since contents do not match."
Can anyone help?
 
I'm guessing you have the retail US version. Are you sure you have the right patch? There are at least three versions (US, Euro and German).

I think some people reported seeing some glitches in the graphics when using the 3500 setting, mainly some white boxes in the distance.
 
Ok cheers... Well Ive installed both. And a realistic driving one...

What settings should I set the graphics one? Cause it seems the graphics tweak has made my fps go from 65 to around 30?
 
You can set the View Distance and Detail Distance down if you have the FarClip mod. That should boost your fps.
 
Ok so those two are effected by the farclip mod, so what values should I not go below? Or do they not make much difference at all now.
 
Right now you can see further than before, however only low-poly models are rendered on distances farther than the View Distance and Detail Distance can reach. But if you have the depth of field modification then you should be able to lower the View Distance and Detail Distance without negative effects on the visuals of far away buildings. Instead you should get a performance boost. Go upwards from 0 and try out different settings.
 
Ok sweet Ill give it a try... Just got a new graphics card too so everything was bumped up to High/very high so I am noticing heaps of difference so dont know what the mods are actually doing... Plus I need to find a high point to test the far clip... Im only on the first island.
 
Yeah, with your card you should have no problems. I have everything set on very high and this is what the game looks like for me. View distance is 45.

Yeah I dont know what was going on the other night... I ran a benchmark last night with all the mods on and detail and draw on full and it got 55fps which is fine by me :)
