Two keys are typing two letters at the same time! Huh??

Whenever I have to type an "i" or a "p", I get this: io or IO, plus po and PO.

I've tried the Num Lk key--didn't change a thing. Is this a virus? A keyboard short? I've taken them off and cleaned all keys a few weeks ago with a slightly moistened Qtip. Did that mess them up?

Help.

Most Likely an electrical fault, a drop of water could do that, also is it a wireless keyboard, could also be a problem with connection. I dout it is a virus as usually the virus does something a bit more than typing two keys, did you get the problem only now or after you cleaned it?

Yes, it's wireless. A friend also suggested it could be a problem with my battery. Could that be a possibility?

Another suggested I connect the notepad with another remote keyboard. If it's not happening on that, I will need a new keyboard. Just seems crazy since I'm so careful with it.

well i do not think as if it was problem with a battery you would experience same problems through out. i have a wireless keyboard also, had battery down, and it just kept not pressing the key i was pressing.

make sure that you have all the latest drivers for the keyboard, maybe either the receiver or the sender from the keyboard got damaged. also as i said before minor amount of water could disrupt sending sequence, and thus send two instead of one.

Indeed try on another computer, if it works than it is something with the computer and we can go from then

The battery could be an issue, because the message it's sending to the computer could be diluted by a bad battery, and the computer reads it as something different.

thought it over and over and now thinking that the comment from scottalot might make since. i would have thought something different. Usually its always been change the battery then it works. Now im curious and hoping he will change the battery then reply. in fact thats the only thing i do is change the battery then it works or does not. i have 3 wireless keyboards in the house. not one has taken a dump yet. just change the battery. then yea....i can see someone dumping pop or beer. thats what i would have thought.

Hey that's a first! I hope I'm right!

But would we not see something else also being diluted, not just three keys,

Well, I'm hear to report that changing the battery did nothing. Unless another fix recommended to me works, I've got to figure out HOW to order a new keyboard. What a pain. :(

Russian777, it's a Dell Laptop

get a logitech. they make several. i like features on the keyboard for convenience. on the other hand the feel of the mouse to your hand in important.

If the keyboard does not work on another computer too, hasthe exact same problems, then get a new one, up to you.

I second this opinion above, i have the logitech wireless for notebooks, all you need, and unless you will be very far away from the receiver, you should be getting good signal, and no interuption.

I'm so appreciative of this help.

Tremmor and Cameldude, is there a logitech keyboard that will fit a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop and can be inserted? Or are you referring to just having a separate keyboard placed to the side?

PatPheFox, yes, the keys can be removed. I have removed both of them, cleaned with a dry Q-tip, but my problem still occurs.

Here is an example of what my keys are doing: IOo ohave removed both of them, cleaned wiootoh a dry Q-tiopo, but my porooblem stiooll occurs.

lol, i am talking about to ther side, but i am sure that you can find one that fits, but the one that fits would only be by dell, or other firm which specialises in this,

Sorry not much help here, but if you visit websites, or computer shops near by, they might be able to help you, i think, but not sure, the one you want to put in will cost more if you buy the one to put to the side.

hope thats ok
