Is this a decent PSU?

has most stuff, thoguh you might need another sata power for a new sata cd/dvd drive, but if you go ide your all good

and what mobo and case do you have, im a little curious

Looks to be a cheap off brand power supply, never heard of "a-power".... Ive seen 500 watt power supplies with better ratings on the +12v rails, and that power supply probably cant even deliver what its "rated" for...

ahh common give me a break. It only $10. what do you expect it to be like a 1000watt antec???

Which was $10 too much. Unless of course your looking for a cheap excuse to have to replace all your components.

My old IBM power supply died, and it didn't take out anything else with it. Only it died because my little brother flicked the voltage switch over to 110 volts...then one of the resistors blew up!

I will buy this PSU and provide a review of it. If it blows up in my face it goes in the bin, if it works with all my components without issue, all the better!

Of course time is the best test, along with overclocking.

Why ask a question and ignore the advice you receive? Cross your fingers, toes, arms and legs :P

I Acknowledged the advice, and will go by it. But i still think for $10 it is a good deal. I can always just use integrated video until i get a better PSU.
I just want to get my build up and running

PS: I like watching fires. :D

Never said that it will always cause that, but alot of the time it can damage the motherboard, hard drives/optical drives, gpu's, cpu's or memory.

Do you have a stopwatch? Im interested how many seconds it will go before dying..

Yeah.. IF the thing even works it'll power your system for a few months and then die, often generic PSUs are rated to a higher wattage then they can actually provide, and are made with very cheap components. Overclocking is especially bad because that puts yet MORE load on the PSU.

Well then, by not waiting to find something better you'll wind up having your shiny new computer reduced to an oversized paperweight, patience is a virtue. Sometimes it's worth holding out for better, like right now. 10$ may be cheap but so is the PSU, you get what you pay for
