Arma 2

I tried the demo on steam...I did not like it. I gave it about an hour of playing time and it did not impress me.

The graphics are good but I did not care for the game play.

My friend's got it and I've tried the demo. According to my friend and other people on the internet the demo runs better than the full game.

My experience was that it's pretty much the same as ArmA, but with better graphics. The buildings still collapse in the same awful way though. :P

I usually gives upcoming games a chance, no matter what kind of flak they get, and I thought Arma 2 looked great, though when I tried the demo, I was disappointed, and it has potential, but I don't even like the UI and stuff, so they'd need a whole new game.. Luckily they chose a popular genre, so there are more games like it that may come out.

Don't listen to anyone who says it's crap, it is good. The graphics are great, real life physics, lots of things to do and over 1500 people on the battlefield!
Seriously, you can go parachuting, repelling, driving, tanking (mmm tanks) and like heaps more. The AI act like real AI, when you shoot them out of a plane it stil flies for a bit (like what really happens) then it comes down and crashes, and sometimes you get a emo AI that kills itself!

Good game, try it out.

Even the demo has such awesome things, I only have the demo and it is just totally wicked. You will only be disappointed if you don't like realistic (for a game) games.

Call of Duty 4 is realistic, CSSource is, and so is Battlefield 2, I love all of those. I had high expectations for this game, I actually thought it would hold me over until the Fall when more games come out.

Actually, they are not that much. We are having this conversation on steam wtf.

COD4, people think it is realistic but it's not. You can't heal up after being shot unless you have had some treatment (yes you heal on Arma 2 after treatment, but you are still hurt) and there are no physics on COD4 (ok like walking gravity yes, but bullets, no), me and a friend wanted to see if there was bullet drop, so we went to like Crash so something and aimed at a point (really far away) and there was no bullet drop.

CS:S? C'mon, you're joking right?

BF2, yeh it is kinda, it had bullet drop and a alright health system before the thrid(? or fourth) patch and there are some flying shrapnel, but they do not hurt you.

Arma 2 is the most realistic game out there right now, and it may be heavy on your computer, but it's still good.

BF2? While its a great game, not very realistic.

My brother has Arma 2 in the mail (he bought it from germany for $30). He saw the demo and loved the game. I'm not too sure yet as sometimes really realistic games frustrate me :P

I really don't get why you people don't like realistic games?
Okay, everyone has their opinions, but really, they are good games and it's the next best thing to a real war. I am sure most of you do not want to go to war, but if you are going to pretend, may as well pretend realistically right?

Just my opinion, but it's true.

I got excited after watching a few vids on youtube so I downloaded the demo and was very disapointed, it's complete crap!

Have you ever held and fired a firearm? if you had then you would not think this game is very realistic.

Game is really bad currently....id give it 6 months to get the bugs out before buying it. The game isn't mainstream the "realistic" is nice but its also very annoying like 10+ minutes to heal a wounded solider kinda sucks.

Unless you can buy it used for a cheap price then id go for it.

"realistic" games tend to be fun for only a small niche of all gamers. because real world combat isnt fun.

that said I greatly enjoy co-op in tactical games like arma.

Actually yes, I have gone clay pigeon shooting, rifle shooting on the range with my uncle and cousin and also gone with my cousin out to his friends property.

From your comment, I believe it is you who has not gone out, because in real life, bullets do drop after a while and do jam up sometimes.
Plus, getting shot in the leg 3 times wouldn't have the same effect as getting shot in the chest three times, yes it would hurt like hell, might even hit a artery and you could bleed to death, but it wouldn't be instant.

Also, I never said the game was real, as no game could portray real life exactly (eg, you can only die once in real life, but a game with that feature wouldn't sell), so they can only go so far, and I believe Arma 2 has hit that benchmark better than anyone else in the field.

I have no idea why you're so hellbent on pitching Arma2 as the most realistic game and it being so great. I told you on Steam, that you're allowed to voice your opinion, but not everyone wants to play a realistic game..

I thought this game was going to be great, and I'm always the first one to try a game no matter what kind of flak it's getting, and when I played this game, I was really, really disappointed.. I even made a thread about the game.

Also, my system can handle the game just fine.. It's the game overall that sucks.
