So i built a new comp got it running for about 3-4 hrs, then only the fans would turn on for 5-7 seconds. So i thought it was the motherboard and got that RMA'd, and i just got my new1 in the mail today. Rebuilt my comp and now the only thing happening is the fans will spin when i first plug in the computer. I have taking everything out and rebuilt it, triple checked my front panel headers, tried the barebone start up, nothing. not even a fan will spin or led light up. Sound like a bad power supply to you?

So does this sound like a bad psu or should I just bring my comp to a comp store and have them fix it. Cus If this sounds like a bad psu I may just get a refund for this and buy a new better 1 but I'd nor I'll let a tech guy figure out the pronlem. Also what r the possibly of a doa mobo?

Apevia power supply is probably your issue, their power supplies are extremely low quality and basically pieces of crap.

Alright seeing as now my laptop is down I need this comp running so I'll look into getting my refund for that. Who makes good psus, preferably modular

ocz look like alot of bang for your buck if you consider Rebates. When I was reading Newegg's reviews -there were a ton of complaints about rebates not being paid out.

I got my corsair Rebate in the mail today. A little pricier than OCZ - but I know I get my rebate :good:

Great price both before and after rebate;) Plus its high effeciency will save you some money on your electric bill;) (well, your parents)

Ok I think I might just get the refund for my apevia then pick 1 of those up be before I go see some tech guys

ya seems like that is the problem, as bomberboysk says "Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it,not worth the risk." great advice !!!!

Me 2 cus now I have to use my itouch to surf the web, this comp is replacing my lappy which died 2day

well thanks for the help guys. I ended up picking up a Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W because thats all i need for now and it was only $35 plus i have a $12 rebate on it. On my new comp running and its running great. Thanks again.
