HELP, Problem with Marvell Yukon 88E8040 ethernet controller

I have a serious problem with Marvell Yukon 88E8040 ethernet controller in my Dell 1545 notebook. My LAN speed is unacceptably low. This ethernet controller is also unstable: sometimes good and sometimes bad.

However, I have a Marvell Yukon Gigabit ethernet controller in my PC, which works very well with the same cable.

I believe there are a lot of DELL users having this problem with Marvell Yukon 88E8040.

See if there is a driver update for it or a possible bios update to fix the issue.

Use your Marvell Yukon Gigabit controller then.


If alot of people are having problems with it, check with Dell and see if there is a fix or driver update.

Kind of hard to do that when when we are talking about a notebook and a desktop!

I know that, I was just saying use it and look at Dell and see if there was a fix for the 88E8040 or try Marvell http://www.marvell.com/drivers/search.do
