Setting up a printer from a router/print server?

Ok. So basically I'm trying to set up the print server that's in my D-link router DI-524UP. I've set up a new printer, added the correct port and everything but I still can't get my computer to detect the printer.

The router detects the printer input yes, I can tell from checking the status and andtheh Green light is on (not flashing). I also have the correct printer drivers installed. My printer is the Epson CX4700.

My printer is connected directly to the router (with prent server) via USB and Ethernet to my computer. I've tried uninstallin/reinstalling ONLY the printer drivers (since it also has a scanner). I've also changed the queue name to lp and lpUSB0 and none of them work.

Anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

You may need to connect to the printer through an IP address. I've only done this once, but you should be able to print out a printer status page with the IP address on it and you then connect through a network through the IP.

Sorry if it sounds confusing. I'm not good at explaining stuff like that.

When i installed my wireless printer, I had to actually plug in the usb printer cord to it, then select the driver option from the cd to set up wireless for the first time and it grabbed the wireless settings onto my laptop. Then for other laptops in the house there was a 3rd option to use that said something about if the printer is already setup choose this one.
